A couple more suncatchers

Both of these suncatchers are from my normal pattern, Sue Hanson's Crystals in a Ring pattern.  The first is for our daughter's new friend and her choice of thread color is  Lizbeth Caribbean size 40 with blue glass beads from Fire Mountain Gems.  She loves it!!!  :)
Next is one for our oldest granddaughter done in Lizbeth size 40 Island Breeze with #3 Twisted Bugle Light Blue Czech Glass Beads.  It was a thought of mine to try these beads for something different and I really like the way the open spaces around the ring look like pentagons.  I want to do another with these beads and the Caribbean thread next.  Plus, the youngest granddaughter wants the Island Breeze thread and tiny hot pink beads for hers.  So there are more to come, plus....I am still working on some that I owe someone yet.
Oh, I have added more motifs to the tablecloth again, and made a little more progress on the tatted garland.
This weekend will not have much if any time for tatting due to my mother-in-law getting married and me doing a lot of the work.
So.....if I don't show up again before next week sometime....
Have a fabulous week!!!  :)

2014 25 Motif Challenge # 24

Well, it's another test tat.  This first item is 24 of my 25 motif challenge.  I cannot believe I have gotten this many done with everything that has gone on this year(and continues to go on).  :)
This is Elaine P. Gan's Firm Foundation Cross(personally, I think hers are far more beautiful!).
It's tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Juicy Watermelon.  Ignore the "tail", it was just a random thing.
Next is a suncatcher I just finished.  It's a motif from the Big Book of Tatting called Dancing Snowflake.  Now, for those who know the pattern, the outer round is my own design hoping to get it to fit in the bracelet(should have been a little smaller, but it's ok).  It's tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Green Coral Sea.
And 2 more suncatchers I finished last week.  The first is one I do all the time, and the second is from the same book as the suncatcher above, but the name of the motif is Ice Crystals Snowflake.
It's tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Elderberry Jam.  It was a little small for the bracelet so I tried to use a little creativity to join it.  Not the greatest attempt, but I like the "sort of" star look.  :)

Tatting......dangles

I had a request for 2 small dangles done in black(I think they want them for earrings like the purple ones here:  http://hiskid66.blogspot.com/2014/06/tatting-is-getting-done-slowly.html  ).  I wasn't sure about doing smaller ones, but I found smaller rings and decided to try.  They didn't take very long and they turned out pretty well.  I was also thankful that I had purchased the small crosses on a whim not too long ago, because I realized the rainbow crosses would not work.
I have also added 4 more motifs to the tablecloth(here: http://hiskid66.blogspot.com/2014/05/the-very-slowly-progressing-tatted.html  ), and I have worked on the beaded Christmas garland(here:  http://hiskid66.blogspot.com/2014/01/a-little-tatting-and-lot-of-snow.html  ), and I have done another suncatcher, and another test tatted cross(hoping to post both later or tomorrow).  :)
Have an awesome day!!!  :)

A New Tatting Book available (not from me....I am not that good, but maybe some day>>>yah, right!!) :)

For those who have admired the patterns I have test tatted for Elaine P. Gan(from Test Tatters on Facebook), patterns such as the Butterfly Carousel, well, she has put together an e-book for purchase and  it is now available.  Here is a picture of the cover and a link to the purchase page.  Now everyone can enjoy tatting her beautiful patterns(even those not on Facebook).  :)

Tatting to show!! :)

This top picture is a glimpse of what my livingroom has been looking like.  Lots of tatting work sitting out.
If you can see on the paper towel about in the center I have finished both of those pairs of earrings(Lizbeth Rainbow Splash dreamcatchers, and purple dangles), and I am set up for several suncatchers(which I have 4 finished and a fifth in the works).  :)
.
These are my dreamcatcher earring pattern tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Niagara Falls.
The small "ring" on the top of the picture is a bracelet I tatted for my oldest granddaughter too long ago to remember when, but as you can see it has been well used.  She brought it and asked me to tat another, but since I have no other rainbow thread she asked me to use the size 10 Royale that I was teaching her to tat with.  So, the bottom bracelet is the new one just needing the ends sewn in.  It's kind of adjustable so she can grow into it.  :)
**Original here:  http://hiskid66.blogspot.com/2012/06/birthday-request-from-granddaughter.html
Here are the 4 suncatchers I have done.  Starting on top left to right.
All size 40  Lizbeth Sea Island Citrus, Autumn spice,
Purple Iris Fusion, Juicy Watermelon.  (this is the only picture taken with my new camera so if the others are blurry, I apologize, but my old computer wouldn't accept the new camera, but I tried it on this new computer and it works....so far).  :)
This is a slub or flub or whatever everyone calls the knots in the ball of thread.  I was quite frustrated, but I just skipped past it for not.  I will make the correction later.

Very extremely thankful for Blogger!!!

No tatting to show, but I really have been tatting while also trying to catch up on everything left undone while playing with granddaughters for a week.
The reason I am so thankful for blogger is....my computer DIED, seriously!  They can't even get any of my pictures or anything from either of the 2 hard drives(although, they did just tell me that for $270 they can get my pictures if I really want them-like I have more money to spend after getting a whole new computer on a last minute notice>>>NOT!)
Well, I was just sitting here thinking about the loss of so many photos and scans and then realized that Blogger has all my tatting pictures!!!  I am so happy!!!!  At least I still have something!
Well, this new computer is up and running and I am having to learn everything about this modern technology, but I have completed  2 pairs of earrings, and am almost done with 2 suncatchers, and I have worked more on the beaded garland, so hopefully I will have time to share some pictures soon(as soon as I figure out where to plug in my camera and how to use it with this computer).
Have a truly blessed day and enjoy tatting!!!  :)
